About NAEP Scores

A score greater than or equal to 268 is "advanced"
A score between 239 and 267 is "proficient"
A score between 209 and 238 is "basic"
A score at or below 208 is considered "below basic"
Students of all grades are rated on the same scale. Scores predictably increase at higher grades as students develop their reading skills.
